Namibia & Botswana - 15 days

Day One

Meet guests at Windhoek International Airport, transfer to lodge, freshen up & relax.

Enjoy the rest of today day exploring the city and local craft markets.

Our trip briefing takes place over a traditional dinner at a rustic festive local restaurant which has a real African bush atmosphere.

Day Two

Depart from Windhoek traveling north, stopping at a few small villages to view local crafts.

Arrive at the Waterberg Biosphere set up camp and explore flora and fauna that the area has to offer. Dinner is prepared over an open campfire.

Day Three

Today we rise early and after a light breakfast we embark on a three hour hike with a local guide to the top of the Waterberg plateau to view the numerous game species that reside in the area.

The possibility of spotting Rhino, numerous different species of Antelope as well as Baboons and other varieties of small game is very likely.

We return from the walk by lunch time. After lunch we’ll depart the Waterberg region travelling towards Etosha National Park stopping at a small town along the way to replenish our supplies.

This evening we’ll camp inside Etosha National Park.

This is a park where with some luck you may have a chance of seeing all of the big five.

Our campsite is situated right next to a floodlit waterhole where you can relax and watch the interactions of the various game and birds coming to drink here.

Day Four

Today we move deeper into the park, most of the day is spent game driving, keeping a lookout for any animals that may be on the move.

Our next campsite offers a refreshing swimming pool, a small curio shop, restaurant and café.

Day Five

We leave Etosha and head east to a San village where we’ll observe the traditional ways of these desert dwelling people. They’ll demonstrate methods they use to hunt, as well as gather food and water from the wild. We’ll be shown many aspects of how these people survive in this arid region.

Day Six

Leaving the San people behind we travel north to the Caprivi Strip, our campsite tonight is situated along the banks of the Okavango River, as the sun sets over Angola on the opposite bank of the river don’t be surprised to tick off another of the big five, Hippos are abundant in this area, the grunting sound they make can often be heard during the night.

Day Seven

Setting out east along the Caprivi Strip we have a good chance of encountering elephants and other game along the roadside. The road we are travelling on goes all the way through the Bwabwata National Park, finally we'll reach our secluded camp for tonight once again situated right on the banks of the Okavango River. Birdlife is prolific in this area. Hippos are easily spotted from the campsite.

For an additional fee, the campsite offers the best value for money Okavango Delta swamp ‘Mokoro’ safari in Namibia! Guided bird and village walks. Fishing boats & guide for hire (catch and release only) Swimming in the unique floating river pool, safe from crocodile and hippo, volley ball, sunset cruises, river rafting, environmental projects and much more... Day Eight

We stay at this campsite today, included in your tour price is a guided game drive through the famous Mahango National Park. Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Hippos, and Buffalo, Wild dog, the rare Sable and Roan antelope abound in the area of this park.

Bird life here is renowned as one of the best spots in Southern Africa - over 500 species have been recorded. The afternoon can be spent relaxing enjoying the surrounding nature

Day Nine

Today we travel to Katima Mulilo we we’ll visit an unusual giant Baobab Tree.

The campsite for tonight is beautifully grassed and situated on the banks of the Zambezi River. There’s a nice swimming pool, laundry facilities and a small shop.

Once again Croc’s and Hippo are our neighbors.

Day Ten

We leave the Caprivi Strip and cross the border into Botswana. Arriving at Chobe we’ll settle in before enjoying an afternoon of game viewing from our sundowner cruse boat.

This is undoubtedly the most pleasant way of observing the prolific game in the area.

We’ll round the day off by watching the sunset over the Chobe River before returning to shore for dinner.

Day Eleven

An early start to the day will see us head out by game drive vehicle to see what animals can be found in the nearby wilderness area. Elephant are prolific in this area; they may even visit our campsite during the night!! In this area there’s a good chance of spotting Buffalo, Sable, Giraffe, Bush pig and many other small game species. Once again birdlife in this area is prolific.

Look out for the iconic African Fish Eagle, the river is their happy hunting ground.

Day Twelve

It’s our last day in Kasane, spend today doing any activities that you still wish to, go shopping for curios or local fare, or spend the day swimming and relaxing at one of the terraces along the waterfront. A game drive will be offered for those wishing to seek out more game in the African Bush. Tonight we'll enjoy a buffet dinner of mammoth proportion at a nearby lodge.

Kasane has a few shops, banks, supermarkets and local curio markets too. There are also many luxury lodges in the area that offer coffee shops, pubs and delightful restaurants serving typical African dishes. Many also serve various game dishes including some exotic wild dishes and meats.

Day Thirteen

An early start and after breakfast we’ll travel to the border. Crossing into Zambia across the Zambezi River, we’ll settle into our next campsite which we’ll use as a base for the next two days. Today we’ll have the opportunity to visit the mighty Victoria Falls. The area offers many other adventure activities you may wish to experience. The best white water rafting in the world, Bungi jumping off the Bridge below the falls, Helicopter flips over the falls, Curio villages, shopping and river cruising.

Day Fourteen

Spend today exploring Livingstone, the falls and doing anything else in the region that grabs your fancy.

Day Fifteen

The tour ends today.

Following a farewell breakfast, arrangements will be made for your transfer to the International Airport in Livingstone.

Vehicles & Tents

The tour is conducted using capable, reliable fully equipped Toyota double cab vehicles which comfortably accommodates four adults (fuel cost excluded)

There is constant radio communication available between the vehicles.

We allocated a maximum of four guests to a vehicle, the guide vehicle accommodates two people at a time so we suggest rotating positions daily as we go along so that each guest gets time in the guide vehicle to see how things get done or ask any questions along the way, this ensures that everyone gets a chance to sit in different seating arrangements during the tour.

The guides are advanced 4x4 operators and will show you how best to use the vehicle correctly in challenging off road conditions.

Each vehicle is fitted with two roof top tents which sleep two people sharing per tent.

Bedding is provided.

The approximate cost of the above Safari is subject to confirmation at the time of booking and dependant on seasonal rates.

(An additional 10% surcharge is applicable if there are less than four guests on tour)

We accommodate a minimum of two and maximum of six guests at a time on the above tour, this ensures that your Safari experience remains personalised and exclusive.

African Bush adventures reserves the right to vary itineraries in the event that the prescribed campsites or lodges are unavailable at the time of booking. Suitable and similar alternatives will in that case be substituted and guests will be notified of any changes beforehand.
