Botswana Okavango, Chobe and Makgadigadi Pans

Day One - Guides welcome guests at Maun International Airport and transfer to River camp. The balance of the day is spent settling in, setting up camp and general pre-safari preparation, sundowners, dinner and pre trip briefing takes place at a festive bush restaurant situated on the banks of the Thamalakane River.(Look out for the resident Hippo!)

Bottled water, afternoon snack and evening main meal included in your cost.

All other beverages are excluded and for your own account.

Day Two - An early start, then after breakfast youll spend today viewing game from the channels of Okavango Delta poling on Mokoros (Log boats) guided by local guides. During the day you will have the opportunity to do some game tracking by foot on one of the larger islands; lunch takes the form of a picnic meal before returning through the channels to the pick up point at the Buffalo fence. A speedboat will be waiting to transfer you back to the river camp.

Sundowners back at the camp will be a good way to round off your first day on Safari

A full day Mokoro Trip, bottled water, light breakfast (coffee, rusks, cereal, etc) packed lunch and dinner (main course) is included in your cost. All other beverages for your own account

Day Three - After breakfast well break camp and drive north on sand roads into an unfenced wilderness area teaming with wildlife. Possible water crossings with our vehicles today depending on water levels in the Delta. Tonight well camp out in the wild, watch out for Hyena & Leopard! Dinner is served around the roaring campfire tonight.

Breakfast, mid morning snack, light lunch and dinner with wine is included.

Day Four - Relax and chill out at our bush campsite, watch the movement of game in the area through the day; this is a place where the game comes to you!!

Day Five - Moving camp well travel further north into Chobe National Park. Expect some challenging 4x4 driving negotiating the deep soft sand tracks of the Savuti plains. Game sightings can be rewarding, keep your eyes pealed as we go.

Well camp in Elephant country tonight!

Breakfast, mid morning snack, light lunch and dinner with wine is included.

Day Six - An early start to a long day in the saddle with potential for lots of game viewing as we transit along soft sand jeep tracks until we finally enter Chobe Forest Reserve and proceed to a campsite on the banks of the Chobe River, view the abundant wildlife and one of Africas most famous sunsets overlooking the Chobe River. Enjoy a Sundowner cruse on the Chobe River.

Breakfast, game viewing, light lunch, sundowner cruse and dinner is included.

Day Seven - Today you have the option to cross the border into Zimbabwe and visit the thundering Victoria Falls for the day, or you can relax at the lodge, visit the markets in the village, visit the health spa, or just chill out around the pool. This evening well enjoy an exceptional Buffet dinner at a nearby lodge.

Breakfast & buffet dinner are included. Beverages at dinner are excluded.

Day Eight - An early start will see us turn south for the first time on this tour as we travel close to the Botswana, Zimbabwe border, watch out for Elephant, antelope and those elusive cats. Well sleep over at a wild bush lodge in the heart of Elephant country tonight.

Breakfast, mid morning snack, light lunch & dinner is included.

Day Nine - Today we head in a westerly direction making our way onto the Makgadigadi Pans to a remote campsite under Giant Ancient Baobabs miles away from any civilization. Explore the areas around the pans; visit the Giants and imagine what it must have been like for the ancient explorers first traveling in these parts. Listen to the sun setting over the vast expanse of nothingness!! Theres no light pollution here so the stargazing is just fantastic!

Day Ten - Well set off early this morning making our way across the pans and planes as we travel back to Maun and the same point you set off from ten days ago Sadly, your Safari ends today, well grab a quick brunch on route before heading for the airport in preparation for the return flight home.

Brunch is included.

Fuel for the hired vehicle.

We carry a selection of ice cold soft drinks, beers and wine during the tour, this is managed by the honesty bar system, payment thereof to be settled in cash by each individual at the end of the tour.

Any additional activities or excursions during the Safari which you may wish to take part in that are not included in the itinerary.

The option of a one or two day excursion to Victoria falls.

Additional activities available at Victoria Falls are Bungi Jumping and white water rafting.

Scenic Helicopter and microlight flips to view the magnitude of the falls from the air.

Travel insurance, Malaria Prophylactics, tips and gratuities.

Vehicles & Tents

The tour is conducted using reliable fully equipped Toyota Double cab vehicles which comfortably accommodates four adults (fuel cost excluded)

There is constant radio communication available between the vehicles.

This means that there are a maximum of four guests allocated per vehicle, the guide vehicle accommodates two people and it is suggested that you rotate positions daily as we go along so that each person gets time in the guide vehicle to see how things get done and ask any questions along the way. Everyone will have a chance to sit in different seating arrangements during the tour.

The guides are advanced 4x4 operators and will show you how best to set the vehicle up for off road use and how use it correctly in challenging conditions.

Each vehicle is fitted with two roof top tents which sleep two people sharing per tent.

Bedding is provided.

The approximate cost of the above Safari is subject to confirmation at the time of booking depending on seasonal rates.

(An additional 20% surcharge is applicable if there are two or less guests on tour)

We can accommodate up to six guests at a time on the above tour, this ensures that the Safari remains personalised and exclusive.

African Bush adventures reserves the right to vary itineraries in the event that the prescribed campsites or lodges are unavailable at the time of booking. Suitable and similar alternatives will in that case be substituted and guests will be notified of any changes beforehand.
